All employers who have hazardous chemicals in their workplace are required by OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) to maintain a written HazCom Program and provide training on it. California employers must comply with California's Hazard Communication Standard, Title 8, California Code of Regulations (CCR) §5194, and with the Proposition 65 (Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) warning requirements incorporated into that regulation at 8 CCR §5194(b)(6).
Unlike the safety topics in our bundle, HazCom training can't be sold as a standard course — it has to be built around the specific chemicals and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) actually present at your site. A one-size-fits-all HazCom course would leave your team untrained on the hazards they actually face, and wouldn't satisfy the standards.
